Igor spills the beans on his boss. “Not another Frankenstein film!” we hear you groan. But wait! Come back! With a script by Chronicle’s Max Landis, a cracking cast ( how much fun do you reckon McAvoy and Radcliffe had making this together, eh?) and a new viewpoint – namely, Radcliffe’s trusty servant, Igor – this new adaptation of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel looks as though it could be superb. Directed by Sherlock helmer McGuigan – cast members include Baker Street regulars Louise Brealey and Mark Gatiss, funnily enough – Frankenstein could have a punky, thoroughly British feel that rejuvenates a tired old formula. And let’s face it, it has to be better than this year’s putrid I, Frankenstein.
