“I thought the script was good. Village children turning into a coven of Devil worshippers. It was such a lovely cast and great fun was had despite the location. There were many wet days and muddy fields! However I was used to location filming on Doctor Who at a quarry or Brighton rubbish dump so actually being in beautiful countryside was a step up.

“There was no ‘ fall out’ of a Doctor Who companion doing a partly nude scene in a film. Mainly I think because no one actually saw the film at the time. It wasn’t the box office hit I think the producers had hoped.

“I haven’t seen the film since the screening at the French Institute in South Kensington and I understand that it has become a bit of a cult. I get fan letters from people who love the film and have heard it compared with Witchfinder General and even The Wicker Man. So who am I to disagree? I may even buy it and have another look!”
