If Twilight ditched the emo vampires and focused on its wolf pack, it still wouldn’t be half as much fun as X- writer David Hayter’s directorial debut.

Cayden ( Lucas Till) is an average high school footballer until puberty hits and he wolfs out. After accidentally killing his adoptive parents, he runs away to find his real family and ends up caught between two warring werewolf clans. To survive, he’ll have to figure out how to be a wolf – and how to be a man.

It’s pretty melodramatic, but it’s got a great sense of humour and a surprisingly strong cast. Till is a sympathetic lead, while Jason Momoa gives real menace to his despotic wolfman. As lycanthropic coming- of- age movies go, it’s not Ginger Snaps, but it’ll do.
