Never one to shy away from trouble, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane’s latest project should stir up plenty of controversy. Co- written by Brian Holguin and with painted art by Clayton Crain, the eightissue miniseries draws parallels between superheroes and Jesus Christ when a mysterious amnesiac man emerges with preternatural powers that lead him to be proclaimed as the Messiah himself. Describing it as “a more serious take on

Monty Python’s Life Of Brian”, McFarlane has insisted that this “sassy take on the typical superhero story” will not deal “with Christianity or religion as a whole”, but we can still expect it to ruffle a few feathers.

Just imagine Savior if Seth MacFarlane did it!
