Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

SFX: The Sci-Fi and Fantasy Magazine - - 20 greatest tv shows -

The flip side of Babylon 5, Deep Space Nine chose to take a slightly calmer route through the seas of standard, Gene Roddenberry-inspired sci- fi. For a while, at least... After a couple of middling seasons all hell broke lose: Sisko grew a beard, the Cardassians attacked, hordes of bad guys came flying out of a nearby wormhole and suddenly Star Trek became a war zone. With some exceptionally intelligent writing, phenomenal performances and knock- out twists, this is arguably the best Trek of the lot.
