The Darkman Trilogy

SFX: The Sci-Fi and Fantasy Magazine - - Dvd & blu- ray -

Release Date: OUT NOW!

1990- 1999 | 18 | Blu- ray After Sam Raimi was unable to acquire the rights to the Shadow, he created his own superhero instead: a crimefighter who’s a master of disguise ( thanks to artificial skin technology) and feels no pain ( thanks to surgery). Liam Neeson is enjoyably over- the- top as the scientist out for revenge on the mobster who blew up his lab, disfiguring him and killing his girlfriend. In some ways a dry- run for Raimi’s Spider- Man trilogy, Darkman is blessed with frenetic action and the sort of dark slapstick humour which will appeal to fans of the Evil Dead movies. The two DTV sequels ( which recast the hero) are throwaway schlock.
