Dominion Avenging Angels
Who knew that Scott Stewart’s film Legion would come back with a vengeance on the small screen? The show’s first season, set 25 years after the film, revealed the story of Alex Lannen ( Christopher Egan), who is destined to become the saviour of mankind as warring archangel brothers Michael ( Tom Wisdom) and Gabriel ( Carl Beukes) grapple for power.
Expanded to 13 episodes, season two opens a few months after Alex’s climb to Gabriel’s aerie. Showrunner Vaun Wilmott promises that scene will pay off in unexpected ways. “Alex will be very driven and active,” Wilmott says. “By the end he will be a much more seasoned leader that sees beyond himself, like his desire to protect Claire and their unborn baby.
“We are packing in so much story,” Wilmott enthuses. “It is a much bigger season and a much bigger show. We continue in Vega but we’ve expanded into Mallory and New Delphi.”
However, Vega is still a hot bed of drama as Claire takes over the city’s leadership. And where is Michael in all of this? “Alone and an outcast,” Wilmott says. “Season two is about him finding his way again through Alex.”
