Osama Lavie Ti dhar, 2011

SFX: The Sci-Fi and Fantasy Magazine - - 20 Greatest Books -

The set- up in Lavie Tidhar’s best book to date is deceptively simple: in a world where global terrorism doesn’t exist, a private detective, Joe, is hired to track down Mike Longshott, the author of books featuring one Osama bin Laden, vigilante. What follows is an exploration of the post- 9/ 11 consciousness that fuses elements of film noir, alternate history and the airport thriller to glorious effect. A World Fantasy Award winner so unsettling that often- made comparisons with Philip K Dick don’t seem at all fanciful.
