Com­poser James Horner ( above) has died at the age of 61 af­ter crash­ing his plane in Cal­i­for­nia. Horner made his name with a se­ries of iconic scores in the ’ 80s, in­clud­ing Aliens, The Wrath Of Khan and The Search For Spock. He won an Os­car in 1997 for his Titanic mu­sic, worked with James Cameron again on Avatar, and more re­cently scored The Amaz­ing Spi­der- Man. Taken from the world too soon, cin­ema won’t be the same with­out him.
