If [make-up effects creator] Tom Savini hadn’t lived 40 minutes away from me, I wouldn’t be sitting here now. Because Tom and George Romero opened those doors for me, and allowed me to experience Hollywood in Pennsylvania, where I grew up. There was also a guy who lived in Pittsburgh called Bill Cardille. On Saturday nights, he would play the host of an old horror show called Chiller Theatre, and run monster movies. And at a very, very young age, that’s what I did on Saturday nights.
