Yes, nearly 14 years later af­ter it was axed, Joss Whedon’s short- lived SF se­ries is still in­spir­ing com­pan­ion books!

Brown­coats will love a com­pre­hen­sive guide to all the Man­darin phrases used through­out the se­ries ( many of them out­ra­geous insults).

There’s an in­ter­est­ing in­ter­view with the show’s Chi­nese trans­la­tor too, ( who also voiced Seren­ity’s com­puter).

That stuff only amounts to 19 pages, though. The rest is a glos­sary fea­tur­ing ’ Verse id­ioms like “Earth- that- was”, plus the names of char­ac­ters, ves­sels and places.

Many other terms cov­ered – like “air­lock”, “gun­play” or, er, “beans” – don’t re­ally re­quire def­i­ni­tion, frankly.
