Ben Burtt re­dis­cov­ered the “Wil­helm Scream” sound ef­fect. The sound is named af­ter a char­ac­ter in 1953’s The Charge At Feather River.

Burtt played an Im­pe­rial of­fi­cer in Re­turn Of The Jedi, edited the Star Wars pre­quels and cre­ated the voice of Pixar ro­bot WALL-E.

The first sound you hear on Ash’s aptly ti­tled de­but al­bum, the ter­rific 1977, re­leased in 1996, is a TIE fighter screech­ing by.
