Brock party!

Tom Hardy is the man who’ll merge with the symbiote in Sony’s Venom movie. The Mad Max star has signed to play Eddie Brock, a freelance photographer who becomes a host for a malignant alien lifeform (we’re hoping this is actually a stealth sequel to Locke: two hours of Hardy making carphone calls to his wife, saying “Sorry, luv, won’t be home, I’m merging with some sentient black goo from outer space…”). Venom debuted in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man but don’t bank on any connective tissue to the web-slinger’s movie franchise. Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer directs from a script by Scott Rosenberg (Pain & Gain) and Jeff Pinkner (The Amazing SpiderMan 2) and the big-tongued anti-hero has already staked out a 5 October 2018 release date. Venom’s had many hosts over the years, including Deadpool. Hey, Sony and Fox, you should make that crossover happen…
