“IT’S SPOOKY STUFF!”

Jane Levy is Jackie

-

So who is Jackie and what is her history with Castle Rock?

Jackie is a townie. She’s grown up here. She is the self-proclaimed historian of Castle Rock. She’s extremely proud of her town. She’s also the town taxi driver. She really likes to know about town business. I wouldn’t call her a gossip. Jackie is more of a snoop. It comes from this curiosity and excitement about her town, and the legends she’s grown up hearing about. There’s the writer with the parasitic twin and the killer dog, but she’s actually never witnessed any of it. Jackie knows everything about it and thinks it’s so cool that she is from Castle Rock. When Henry Deaver shows up in town, she thinks, “Oh crap. This is my moment. This is what I have been waiting for.” She’s heard stories about this guy in middle and high school, and now he’s here.

How would you sum up the series’ fear factor? How does the intensity compare to some of your previous projects such as the Evil Dead remake and Don’t Breathe?

I would say less gore, less turkey basters. This one is definitely horror and psychological thriller. This one is creepier. This show is called Castle Rock. A big element is about small town mystery, small town drama, small town crime and small town freaks. That’s different because I have worked with extreme levels of blood and then, also, confined-space, panic-room psychological thriller. This world is full of Stephen King archetypes and original characters. It’s spooky stuff!
