Sale prices hold steady

Dairy prices held well at last week’s au­tumn-calv­ing sale run by agents Mulc­ahy Nel­son and Flana­gan Mar­ket­ing Ser­vices at Shep­par­ton Re­gional Sa­le­yards.

Agent Lawrie Flana­gan re­ported that the most pleas­ing as­pect of the sale was the way prices held from start to fin­ish.

The av­er­age price for the 186 head sold in the multi-ven­dor sale was $2118, with a $394 000 gross.

Travis and Sher­rena Thompson of Wagga sold 36 cows for an av­er­age of $2093, Di Man­gan of Ton­gala sold 12 Hol­stein heifers for an av­er­age of $2375 and Mark and Charles Mitchell of Un­dera sold 15 head for an av­er­age of $2206.

McDon­alds of Moyhu sold 25 head for an av­er­age of $2202.

The top price of $2600 was achieved by Bar­woview Part­ner­ship.
