Workers die on job

Two farm workers have been killed on the job within 24 hours in regional Victoria.

A man aged in his 50s was killed when he was thrown from the cabin of a spreader truck when it rolled down a hill and crushed him south of Yea on Tuesday, last week.

Another man, aged in his 40s, died after falling from a stationary truck while loading manure at an egg farm near Geelong last Wednesday morning.

WorkSafe health and safety executive director Marnie Williams said both deaths were being investigat­ed and farms needed to ensure safety was their top priority.
