Auc­tion­eers to place best bids

The best young auc­tion­eers from across Vic­to­ria will travel to the Vic­to­rian Live­stock Ex­change, Pak­en­ham to com­pete in the 2017 Aus­tralian Live­stock & Prop­erty Agents As­so­ci­a­tion Vic­to­rian Young Auc­tion­eers Com­pe­ti­tion next month.

The event, now in its fifth year, sees com­peti­tors auc­tion com­mer­cial cat­tle while they are judged on their dic­tion, val­ues, voice and man­ner, and the cat­tle will be judged prior to the com­pe­ti­tion as a part of the Royal Agri­cul­tural So­ci­ety of Vic­to­ria Prime Stock Com­pe­ti­tion.

The 10 fi­nal­ists in the Young Auc­tion­eers Com­pe­ti­tion will com­pete for the ti­tle of 2017 ALPA Vic­to­rian Young Auc­tion­eer as well as the Gra­ham Lanyon Shield, with the win­ner and run­ner-up go­ing on to rep­re­sent Vic­to­ria at the 2018 ALPA Na­tional Young Auc­tion­eers Com­pe­ti­tion, held at the Syd­ney Royal Easter Show.

The night be­fore the com­pe­ti­tion, in­dus­try mem­bers and friends and fam­i­lies of the com­peti­tors will gather for the an­nual ALPA Vic­to­rian Young Auc­tion­eers Din­ner.
