Chook-full of rooster fun

Nathalia Show, to be held on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 7, will cel­e­brate the Year of the Rooster with a chook theme.

Show or­gan­is­ers are en­cour­ag­ing en­tries in the poul­try show and ex­hibitors are go­ing clucky over the com­pe­ti­tion sec­tions: best rooster, best rooster photo, dec­o­rated cake, best rooster ju­nior art pic­ture and best roost­erthemed story.

The show will host the full eques­trian sec­tion with pony club ring and other fea­tures in­clud­ing the mo­tor­bike com­pe­ti­tion, sheep dog tri­als, show quest, dog jump, bath tub races and an­i­mal nursery.

Show rides and show bags will be avail­able.

The show will be run­ning a dec­o­rated bra and dec­o­rated jocks sec­tion fol­low­ing the suc­cess of this com­pe­ti­tion at the re­gional con­fer­ence.

The An­gel Ba­bies knit­ting com­pe­ti­tion will be held with all en­tries do­nated to ma­ter­nity wards in hospi­tals.

Ru­ral am­bas­sador Hay­den Wil­liamson will open the show. ■ Events start at 9 am. Fam­ily tick­ets are $25. Hav­ing some fun . . . This year’s Nathalia Show will have a lighter side, with a chook theme for the Year of the Rooster (above) and a dec­o­rated bra and jocks com­pe­ti­tion (right).
