Suc­cess at Shepparton sale

Shepparton Re­gional Sa­le­yards hosted a com­plete dis­per­sal sale of all spring-calved cows and heifers of the In­ver­gor­don mas­ter breeder stud of Rob­bie Mal­colm and Al­li­son McDon­ald, Pardee Hol­steins, on Fri­day.

Also of­fered were 30 freshly calved young Hol­steins from Lloyd and Cathy Ch­esworth’s Wil­lette Hol­steins stud in Tocumwal.

A com­plete sale clear­ance saw 99 head sell, gross­ing $278 350 and av­er­ag­ing $2811.

‘‘It was an out­stand­ing sale. There was strong de­mand and a lot of re­peat buy­ers,’’ Flana­gan Mar­ket­ing Ser­vices owner Lawrie Flana­gan said.

Pardee Hol­steins saw 68 cat­tle sell for an av­er­age price of $3186, with the top priced cow, Pardee Gonzo Per­fect 66-ET, sell­ing for $4500.

J.J. Ed­wards, of Leitchville, pur­chased 35 head at an av­er­age of $2784, while Tatura’s Ross Easter­brook pur­chased two cows that sold for $4100 and $3800 re­spec­tively.
