Swap meet back in Cobram
Thousands of people are expected to roll up to the annual Cobram Swap Meet and Shannons All Wheels Show on Sunday, August 12.
The event will host more than 350 sites from exhibitors from three states, with stalls featuring car parts, collectables, antiques, homewares, literature and market stalls.
About 3500 people attended last year’s event.
The Shannons All Wheels Show allows clubs and individuals to display their vehicles in 16 sections.
Rockabilly musical entertainment is by Miss Kitty and the Memphis Trio from Wangaratta.
Cobram District Health will be at site 444 and is inviting men to put their bodies through the ‘pits’, promoting men’s health.
Men can have their oil levels (blood pressure) tested, their chassis (waist measurement) checked, their fuel mix (alcohol intake) assessed, and receive information about their exhaust (bowel cancer risk).
The Rotary Club of Cobram is assisted by local organisations and clubs with the barbecues, gates, first aid, car show stewards, toilets and rubbish removal.
Gates open at 7 am for the public to enter. Admission is $5 for adults, and free for children 16 years and under.
The event is a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Cobram’s projects in the local community and further afield.
