The Grains Research and Development Corporation is offering funding support for groups of growers and their advisers interested in undertaking study tours on key issues facing the grains industry.

Available through the GRDC Grower Development Program, applications for the domestic and international study tours will be received by the GRDC until Tuesday, October 9.

GRDC’s grower communications and extension group general manager Lucy Broad said the tours would provide growers and advisers with the opportunity to gain new knowledge, learn new skills, build relationships or explore grain research investments.

‘‘Successful applications will demonstrate a clear learning objective or research question that, if addressed, will drive practice change on-farm,’’ she said.

‘‘Applications must include an effective communication plan to extend learning outcomes to their wider grain growing community.

The communication plan may include the use of social media, development of newsletters, articles, grower group presentations or other extension methods.’’

The GRDC is supporting up to six domestic study tours for groups from each of the GRDC’s western, southern and northern cropping regions — not exceeding $15 000 per application.

It is also supporting one international study tour for each of the GRDC’s regions — up to $30 000 per application. ■ For more information, visit: http://pMU or phone Jessie MacLean on (02) 6166 4500 or email: or phone Tegan Slade on (07) 4571 4801 or email: Te
