Waterpool in winning water bids

Shepparton News - Country News - - WATER -

The recent Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder 20 Gl tender has resulted in Waterpool bids, on behalf of its members, gaining 4177 Ml (about 21 per cent of the available water).

The weighted average price paid by Waterpool members was $291.37/Ml, with successful bids ranging from $310/Ml to $281.50/Ml.

Waterpool put a member-only exclusive offer to increase its chance of success in the tender, by offering the opportunity to combine any number of smaller bids into larger bulk bids.

‘‘We were overwhelmed with the response from our member base, with 117 individual bids totaling 19 607 megalitres,’’ Waterpool chief executive officer Peter Lawford said.

‘‘This shows how strong the member base is and further enhances the co-operative nature of the Waterpool business,’’ he said.

‘‘We are so pleased for our members on the result of this tender and our team here have received high praise for their efforts.’’
