A result like this doesn’t happen by chance
The EPA 2009 Light-Duty Automotive Technology and Fuel Economy Trends Report indicates that Hyundai has the best laboratory fuel economy at 7.8 Litres /100 km, and was the only automaker to top 30 mpg.
“A result like this doesn’t happen by chance,” said Hyundai Motor Company Australia’s director of sales and marketing Kevin McCann.
“Excellence in fuel efficiency and environmental protection is an outcome of Hyundai’s vision to become a leader in environmental sustainability…something we saw mirrored in real world competition when the new Santa Fe R-Series took out its category in the Global Green Challenge from Darwin to Adelaide in October.”
Next year, Hyundai will introduce the all-new mid-sized sedan code named YF that promises technologies such as direct-injection, delivering fuel directly into the engine’s combustion chambers for improved performance while reducing fuel consumption.
