Audi global sales up 8.3 per cent

Audi AG fin­ished 2013 with an all-time record, sell­ing around 1.5 mil­lion automobiles world­wide, 8.3 per cent more than in 2012. The pre­mium man­u­fac­turer’s sales were up by more than 100 000 units for the fourth con­sec­u­tive year.

Ma­jor growth driv­ers dur­ing the past year were Audi’s three big­gest ex­port mar­kets, all of which re­ported dou­ble-digit growth: with China up 21.2 per cent, the United States up 13.5 per cent, and the United King­dom up 14.9 per cent.

In Aus­tralia, 16 009 new ve­hi­cles were de­liv­ered to cus­tomers, up by 10.1 per cent, with the new (pic­tured) A3 Sport­back and Q model range per­form­ing par­tic­u­larly well
