New Mercedes C-Class pric­ing an­nounced

Mercedes-Benz Aus­tralia/ Pa­cific has an­nounced pric­ing and spec­i­fi­ca­tion for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class which will be avail­able in deal­er­ships on Au­gust 23.

Mercedes-Benz Aus­tralia/ Pa­cific chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer and Mercedes-Benz Cars man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Horst von San­den said the out­go­ing C-Class was the num­ber one sell­ing lux­ury car in Aus­tralia and he was sure the new C-Class would con­tinue on the same path when it launched in Au­gust.

“The sedan will ini­tially be launched with five vari­ants into the Aus­tralian mar­ket with a sig­nif­i­cant equip­ment en­hance­ment tai­lored di­rectly to our core cus­tomer’s de­sire.”

The most pop­u­lar model of the en­tire Mercedes-Benz range, the C 200 (petrol) re­ceives en­hance­ments of not only equip­ment, but per­for­mance.

LED head­lamps, 18–inch al­loy wheels, col­li­sion preven­tion as­sist plus, elec­tric seats and blind spot as­sist are matched to a 0–100 km/h time that ri­vals the out­go­ing C 250.

Its diesel sib­ling, the C 200 Bluetec (diesel), is set to be­come one of the most fuel-ef­fi­cient ve­hi­cles in the Mercedes-Benz port­fo­lio.

Other stan­dard fea­tures for both the C 200 and C 200 Bluetec in­clude Garmin map pi­lot satel­lite nav­i­ga­tion, am­bi­ent in­te­rior light­ing through­out the cabin (three dif­fer­ent colour modes), DAB and dig­i­tal ra­dio, power­op­er­ated park brake, key­less start func­tion, and ac­tive park­ing as­sist and agility se­lect with five driv­ing modes.

Both the C 250 (petrol) and C 250 Bluetec (diesel) not only in­crease stan­dard equip­ment lev­els over the out­go­ing C-Class, but in­tro­duce new tech­nol­ogy.

The new C 250 vari­ants will ar­rive with the full driver as­sis­tance pack­age plus, most re­cently seen in the lat­est S-Class, in­clud­ing steer as­sist.

Other stan­dard fea­tures in­clude key­less-go with hands-free ac­cess, leather up­hol­stery and stun­ning 19–inch al­loy wheels.

The econ­omy hero of the range will not doubt be the C 300 Bluetec hy­brid, with com­bined fuel ef­fi­ciency es­ti­mated to be as low as 3.6litre/100 km and with equip­ment equal to the C 250 mod­els.

The C 300 Bluetec hy­brid will be priced at $74 900.
