Man re­mains crit­i­cal with head in­juries

A man, 25, re­mains in a crit­i­cal con­di­tion with se­ri­ous head in­juries fol­low­ing an in­ci­dent in Quamby Crt, Shep­par­ton, on Sun­day night.

Po­lice be­lieve the Shep­par­ton man may have been as­saulted, but the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the in­ci­dent are not yet clear, as po­lice have been un­able to speak to the vic­tim.

‘‘He was later lo­cated in Furze Ave, Shep­par­ton, and has got a fairly se­ri­ous head in­jury,’’ Shep­par­ton po­lice Crime In­ves­ti­ga­tion Unit De­tec­tive Se­nior Con­sta­ble Mick Guppy said.

‘‘We are speak­ing to wit­nesses and neigh­bours who are as­sist­ing us with our in­quiries.’’
