Blokes’ lunch is sold out

Shep­par­ton’s Big­gest Ever Blokes Lunch has sold out months in ad­vance ahead of the event on Au­gust 18.

‘‘It’s ex­cel­lent, it’s fan­tas­tic that there are 700 blokes, yet again, sup­port­ing a great cause,’’ Big­gest Ever Blokes Lunch chair­man Shane O’Sul­li­van said.

The ninth an­nual event will bring sup­port­ers to­gether to raise aware­ness of prostate cancer and raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foun­da­tion of Aus­tralia.

‘‘Peo­ple are be­com­ing more and more aware that they are sup­port­ing a cause that af­fects so many,’’ Mr O’Sul­li­van said.

‘‘It’ll be an­other great day and next year will be our tenth which will be an ex­traspe­cial oc­ca­sion.’’

The crowd is set to be en­ter­tained by Black Caviar’s trainer Peter Moody, AFL foot­baller and Aus­tralian crick­eter Si­mon O’Don­nell and co­me­dian Micky D.

The lunch will be­gin on Fri­day, Au­gust 18 at noon at the Queen’s Gar­dens, Shep­par­ton fol­lowed by a three­course lunch at East­bank. ● Do­na­tions for auction and raf­fle items are greatly ap­pre­ci­ated and those wish­ing to do­nate can phone Lisa Kubeil on 0400 599 577.
