Eight killed near US base
KABUL: Eight Afghan security guards from Bagram airbase have been killed when their vehicle was attacked by gunmen, an official has said.
Two others were wounded near the United States base, Bagram district governor Abdul Shokoor Qudosi said.
Monday night’s incident took place on the main road near Shah Kah village, about 1 km from the airbase.
Ten security guards were on their way to work at the time of the shooting, according to the governor.
So far no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Bagram Airbase in central Parwan province is the largest US military base in Afghanistan and is a regular target of attacks.
