Chilly mornings ahead for district

-

Keep the hot water bottle close by because Saturday morning is set to be a chiller.

Forecasters are predicting a chilly start to July with a minimum of -4°C for Shepparton in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Chris Godfred said most of the state would be waking up to a very chilly morning due to a massive amount of cold air set to move on the state tomorrow.

And with clear skies forecast for Shepparton, it will be extra chilly.

‘‘If you don’t have any clouds in the sky there is nothing to trap the heat,’’ Mr Godfred said.

He said early morning frost could be expected on Saturday.

Sunday will be slightly more tolerable, but still below freezing with a forecast of -2°C.
