NAGAMBIE v MURCHISON-TOOLAMBA

-

A vastly improved Murchison-Toolamba faces the toughest test in the league on Saturday when it travels to Nagambie. The Grasshoppers have one of the youngest lists in the league, while the Lakers boast an experienced outfit littered with premiership heroes. Murchison-Toolamba should be raring to go after having the bye last week, with James Milne’s side having pushed Lancaster in an absorbing battle in round 10. Ashton Cashion has been outstanding since heading across from Ardmona this year, leading the club’s goal-kicking with 16, while Luke Armstrong sits one behind him. The Lakers got the win at Lancaster last Saturday, but it came at a cost with star midfielder Mick Shiels suffering a head knock and Tyrone Muir breaking his arm. Shiels is still a chance to play, while top ruckman Alex Tattersall is expected to miss another three games through injury. Veteran forward Pat Rattray has been pushing his claims for a senior recall with some solid form in the reserves.
