Man’s re­mand ex­tended

A man who was al­legedly caught with close to $1 mil­lion worth of drugs faced court yesterday.

Travis Web­ber ap­peared in Shep­par­ton Mag­is­trates’ Court yesterday for the sec­ond time fol­low­ing his June 5 ar­rest after a raid on his Skene St prop­erty.

In the morn­ing raid, po­lice al­legedly un­cov­ered $854 000 worth of metham­phetamines, as well as ec­stasy and speed and weapons. Mr Web­ber, who was 40 at the time of his ar­rest, al­legedly tried to flee the scene dur­ing the raid.

In a brief court ap­pear­ance, the ac­cused, who has been re­manded in cus­tody since his ar­rest, was rep­re­sented by lawyer Emma King. He faces 13 charges, in­clud­ing drug traf­fick­ing, drug de­pen­dence and weapons pos­ses­sion.

He was re­manded in cus­tody to face the court on Septem­ber 25 for three sum­mary of­fences, and for a com­mit­tal on Oc­to­ber 25.
