Po­lice of­fi­cer ac­quit­ted of mur­der

MEL­BOURNE: A for­mer Vic­to­rian po­lice of­fi­cer has been ac­quit­ted of mur­der­ing a mo­torist who was shot three times dur­ing a scuf­fle in Mel­bourne.

A Vic­to­rian Supreme Court jury on Fri­day found for­mer lead­ing se­nior con­sta­ble Tim­o­thy Howard Baker, 46, not guilty of mur­der­ing Vlado Micetic dur­ing a traf­fic stop at Wind­sor in 2013.

The jury re­tired on Thurs­day fol­low­ing a trial that lasted more than four weeks be­fore Jus­tice Christo­pher Beale.
