The Great Chase community day was held Thursday, with a terrific crowd attending.

This year eight community groups were involved, coming from Echuca, Seymour, Numurkah and Shepparton, and all hoping to win some funds for their respective organisations.

It was also about having a wonderful social day out where all the groups come together, get involved in the races and cheer like they are winning the Melbourne Cup.

The club and staff look forward to the day every year as it is rewarding to see the enjoyment groups get out of the event.

The day had a fantastic feel to it with more than 100 guests from the eight of the community groups and the trainers loved the photos with the groups, highlighting what a community event really is.

The next big event for the club is the Blue Ribbon Foundation night on Monday, October 2, which works a treat for families with school holidays on and daylight saving having started.

The night will have plenty of family entertainment and music and all the entertainment will be free as will admission with all money raised on the night going to a great cause. One lucky patron will win $500 just for being at the venue and having fun.

Monday’s racing kicks off at 7.08 pm, with a solid 12-event race program and of course great food, drinks and company.
