Lo­cal tal­ents ready to show­case their wares

The next crop of po­ten­tial Mur­ray Bushrangers has been an­nounced.

The TAC Cup out­fit has named its un­der-18 boys and girls train­ing squads ahead of next sea­son, with 136 hope­ful play­ers set to work hard for the chance to pull on the Bushies jumper.

The girls’ list has been whit­tled down from an ini­tial num­ber of 150 to the 46 names, an­nounced on Thurs­day.

Of those 46, at least 18 will be very fa­mil­iar to foot­ball fans of the re­gion, with lo­cal tal­ents ready to show­case their wares through­out the pre­sea­son.

‘‘(The task was) dif­fi­cult in se­lect­ing the pre­sea­son squad with so many tal­ented young fe­male foot­ballers within our re­gion emerg­ing due to the ex­po­nen­tial growth in fe­male foot­ball,’’ fe­male tal­ent co-or­di­na­tor Bri­ana Cos­sar said.

Al­most half of the boys’ squad of 90 is made up of prod­ucts from the Goul­burn Val­ley and its nearby sur­rounds, with 43 names on the list com­ing from close to home.

‘‘The squad has been se­lected fol­low­ing club nom­i­na­tions, trial games and meet­ings with re­gional Lo­cal in­clu­sions Kate Adams, Charli Boschetti, Claire MacGill, El­lie Mifka, Kelsey Moy­lan (Shep­par­ton United); Tea­gan Brett (Shep­par­ton Notre); Mil­lie Brown (Mooroopna); Paris Crel­ley, Hay­ley Doohan, Abby Favell, Theodora Miaoudis, Holly Robin­son, Kayla Smith (Fin­ley); Sarah Lange-Richards (Tatura); So­phie Locke (Euroa); Tali Ver­ho­even (North­ern An­gels); April Atkin­son, Wys­tasie Walker (Rum­balara).
