Delight and despair not black and white

Shepparton News - - WEEKEND WHAT WE LOVE -

As you know, I’m a Dees supporter. So I have never even had the chance to have the same experience as Rodney Woods did a few weeks ago. The Country News journalist headed to Melbourne to watch his Årst-ever grand Ånal in the AEesh, but it was met with some pretty difÅcult emotions. As a Pies supporter, Rod experienced the incredible elated feelings leading up to the day, with Collingwood unexpectedly taking out the Tigers to progress to the big dance. He excitedly wore his Collingwood jumper to work in the week before the match and jumped for joy when he found out he had been successful in getting a ticket. As soon as the Pies went down I sent my condolences to Rod, knowing he was at the match feeling pretty devastated. But regardless of the result, the whole experience has made for one great story and Rod has shared what happened on that fateful day with readers this week. We also hear from regular student contributors Maddison Howell and Lauren Formica. Maddison unpacks the beneÅts of living in the country while Lauren grapples with some difÅcult Åtness goals. Our beauty column this week is one I will very much take on board, with GOTAFE hairdressing trainer Cath Fox giving her tips on how to tame your frizz. We also hear from Rod’s fellow Country News colleague Alana Christensen, who reviews NetAEix comedy The Good Place. Enjoy! — Tara Whitsed
