STUDENTS LEARN NEW LESSONS ON ANIMAL CARE
Guthrie Street Primary School Foundation students learned about the importance of respecting pets at a special presentation yesterday.
As part of the Victorian Government’s Responsible Pet Education Program, the students were visited by pet educators Jodie Hogan and Stacey Sprunt along with their four-legged friend Trinny.
The session focused on the message of responsible pet ownership including the importance of providing a safe and secure environment, general welfare, strategies for approaching an unknown animal and dealing with aggressive dogs. The children learned catchy slogans and songs to help them remember the lessons, with many of the children having the opportunity to practise their new skills with Trinny.
