■ Rico Fashion Cotton Light and Long DK (47% cotton, 46% acrylic, 7% polyamide, 50g/185m)

9 balls of Pink Mix (002)

■ A 4mm (US G/6) hook

Tension is not critical for this project, but as a guide: 17 sts and 9 rows to measure 10x10cm (4x4in) over treble crochet, using a 4mm hook

ABBREVIATI­ONS

open square (Ch2, skip 2 sts, tr in next) st for all RS rows and (tr in next st, ch2, skip 2 sts) for all WS rows closed square Tr in next 3 sts (2tr in ch-2 sp if working over open square) For a full list, see page 86

NOTES

Blanket is worked in rows from the bottom up. There is a Chart below, which you will need to refer to when making the Blanket. Read all RS rows from right to left and WS rows from left to right. Each square on the Chart is made up of 3 sts, see Abbreviati­ons. The ch-3 at the beginning of each RS row and the final tr on each WS row is not shown on the Chart but should be worked. The Charted area will need to be repeated a total of five times across each row. The first few rows have been written out to guide you.

Row 1 (RS) Tr in fourth ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [190 tr]

Row 2 (WS) Ch3 (counts as a tr throughout), tr in each st across, turn.

Row 3 Ch3, tr in next 3 sts, ch2, skip 2 sts,

(tr in next 4 sts, ch2, skip 2 sts) 30 times, tr in rem 4 sts, turn. [128 tr, 31 ch-2 sps]

Row 4 Ch3, (tr in each st to ch-2 sp, 2tr in ch-sp) rep across to end, turn. [190 tr]

Follow the Chart below for Rows 5-15.

Row 5 Ch3, tr in next 3 sts, (ch2, skip 2 sts, tr in next 16 sts) 10 times, ch2, skip 2 sts, tr in final 4 sts, turn. [168 tr, 11 ch-2 sps]

Row 6 Ch3, tr in next 3 sts, *2tr in ch-sp, tr in next 13 sts, ch2, skip 2 sts, tr in next st, 2tr in next ch-sp, tr in next st, ch2, skip 2 sts, tr in next 13 sts; rep from * four times more, 2tr in ch-2 sp, tr in final 4 sts, turn. [170 tr, 10 ch-2 sps]

Rows 7-15 Continue to follow the Chart. Repeat Rows 4-15 another 7 times.

Next row As Row 4. [190 tr]

Next row Ch3, tr in each st across.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
