PERFECT PONCHO

Simply Knitting - - In The Loop -

Thank you for the poncho pattern in issue 162. I’m a bit of a one for adapting patterns to suit a yarn that I like – this is done in Sirdar Harrap Tweed DK – and I’m really pleased with the end result. I added an extra two pattern repeats (152 stitches total) and did my buttonholes at 22-row intervals. I calculated this by comparing the pattern tension and the yarn tension. I also knitted on 4mm needles to suit the yarn. It’s a lovely size, and I’ve used it as a lap blanket, a cape and a poncho. I’ve also tried it as a shrug, and that looks good as well.
