Note Yarn A only is held double throughout.
Cast on 40 sts using 7mm needles and Yarn A HELD DOUBLE THROUGHOUT, join into the round taking care not to twist stitches. Rounds 1 to 7 Knit.
Change to Yarn B.
Rounds 1 to 16 Knit. Change to Yarn A held double. Rounds 17 to 18 Knit. Change to Yarn C.
Rounds 19 to 28 Knit. Change to Yarn A held double. Rounds 29 to 30 Knit. Change to Yarn B.
Rounds 31 to 40 Knit.
Row 1 K20, turn.
Row 2 Sl1, P19, turn.
Row 3 Sl1, K19, turn.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 four times more. Repeat Row 2 once more. TURN HEEL Row 1 Sl1, K10, ssk, K1, turn. Row 2 Sl1, P3, P2tog, P1, turn. Row 3 Sl1, K4, ssk, K1, turn. Row 4 Sl1, P5, P2tog, P1, turn. Row 5 Sl1, K6, ssk, K1, turn. Row 6 Sl1, P7, P2tog, P1, turn. Row 7 Sl1, K8, ssk, K1, turn. Row 8 Sl1, P9, P2tog, P1, turn. Row 9 Sl1, K to end. [12 sts]
Round 1 Pick up and knit 8 sts along side of Heel Flap, pick up 1 st between Heel Flap and instep sts, PM(A), K20 instep sts, PM(B), pick up 1 st between Heel Flap and instep sts, pick up and knit 8 sts along side of Heel Flap, K6 heel sts, PM for new beg of round. [50 sts] Round 2 Knit to 3 sts before marker (A), k2tog, K1, sl sm, knit to marker (B), sl sm, K1, ssk, knit to end. [48 sts]
Round 3 Knit, slipping markers.
Repeat Rounds 2 and 3 until 40 sts remain on the needles.
Knit 14 rounds.
Round 1 (K3, k2tog) 8 times. [32 sts]
Round 2 (K2, k2tog) 8 times. [24 sts]
Round 3 (K1, k2tog) 8 times. [16 sts]
Round 4 (K2tog) 8 times. [8 sts]
Cut yarn leaving a long tail, thread through all rem sts and pull tight to close toe, secure with sts.
Cast on 5 sts using 2.5mm DPNs and Yarn D, do not turn, *slide all 5 sts to other end of needle, K5, pull working yarn tightly behind work; rep from * until piece measures 34cm. Cast off. Join ends together and using image as a guide sew into position.
Work as for Buckle until piece measures 3cm. Cast off. Sew into position.
Block Stocking and sew in ends. Make a hanging loop from a strand of Yarn B.
