Cast on 124 sts us­ing a 4mm cir­cu­lar nee­dle and Yarns A and C in the fol­low­ing way:

*Us­ing Yarn A, cast on 2 sts, us­ing Yarn C, cast on 2 sts; re­peat from * un­til all stitches have been cast on. Join to work in the round, tak­ing care not to twist sts. PM to mark beg of round.

Round 1 *K2A, K2C; rep from * to end.

Round 2 *K2A, P2C; rep from * to end.

Rep the last 2 rounds, 5 times more.

Next round Us­ing Yarn A, knit.

Round 1 Us­ing Yarn B, knit. Round 2 *K1B, K1A; rep from * to end. Round 3 Us­ing Yarn B, knit. Round 4 Us­ing Yarn A, knit. Round 5 *K1A, K1B; rep from * to end.

Knit a two-colour rib for this Scandi-style hat. Yarn C is used to cre­ate two-stitch col­umns of garter stitch, with Yarn A cre­at­ing stock­ing stitch col­umns

De­crease the top of the hat un­til you have 19 sts left. Break off your yarn and thread it through these re­main­ing stitches, pulling tightly to close up the hat
