TO K2TOG TBL OR NOT TO K2TOG TBL

Q Could you please explain the di erence between k2tog and k2tog tbl? Sharon Hussey, via email

The di erence is in the way the stitch will lie. If you k2tog, the stitch leans to the left, but if you work k2tog tbl (through the back of the loop) it will lean to the right. This method is used when knitting raglan sleeves and decorative patterns.

2 Wind the yarn around the tip of the right-hand needle and pull the yarn through the two stitches, knitting them both together.

3 Drop the two stitches from the left-hand needle and keep the new stitch on the right-hand needle.

1 Insert the point of the righthand needle through the loops of the next two stitches as if to knit.
