Ultra Wi-Fi Router

Until recently, a router was a passive part of a network just doing what it did quietly and efficiently, but times have changed and you now need more than a little grey box with blue cables attached to it. You need something with intelligence, serious grunt and even style!

The new D-Link DIR-895L AC5300 MU-MIMO Ultra Wi-Fi Router has been designed specifically to cope with the demands today’s Internet and network usage needs to work at its most efficient, now and into the future.

Think about it. Your previous router was designed when high definition TV was the cutting edge of technology, but now, with Ultra High Definition smart TVs more the norm than the exception and with a more rapid uptake than HD ever had, there are more than 6 million extra pixels to move in every single frame of footage you see!

If this is being streamed from a media server or streaming service like Netflix or Stan, then you need some serious oomph to get that data picked up, processed and sent. This is where the DIR-895L starts to earn its stripes, with superfast Wi-Fi connectivity on not just one band, but three separate bands.

Now let’s up the ante a little.

While you are in your favourite comfy chair watching the latest blockbuster movie with the audio playing in glorious Dolby surround sound through your 5 speaker setup, all of this data has to be processed simultaneously and sent via the router out to your A/V receiver for dispersion to the speakers.

To cope with the load, the DIR-895L has a 1.4GHz dual core processor giving faster network speeds and making the DIR-895L far more than ‘just’ a router.

While this is happening there is a gamer with an XBOX upstairs in the middle of a monumental battle of Mankind versus Alien (actually in reality another gamer somewhere else on the planet), and they too are putting their own demands on the Wi-Fi network.

Additionally to the smart TV, Dolby surround sound and high resolution XBOX gaming, other users may be browsing the web, sharing emails, listening to Spotify, uploading photos to Facebook or Snapchat, watching 4K or HD video from YouTube or Vimeo, connecting to the office network at work, doing school homework via the school’s remote network and more.

And we haven’t even got to the family Twitter addict as yet!

Not a problem.

The DIR-895L supports some amazing features that enable all your devices to get the best performance from your Wi-Fi network.

As you can see, the full name of the DIR-895L has the letters “MU” in it and this stands for “Multi-User”. This technology means that you can get higher bandwidth Wi-Fi signal to each device, all at the same time.

The DIR-895L delivers breakthrough Tri-Band Wi-Fi technology with amazing combined wireless speeds of up to 5300Mbps.

The Advanced SmartBeam™ technology delivers individual beams of bandwidth where you need it the most, combined with eight high-performance external antennas that will connect to your devices faster, eliminating dead zones.

Finally, because you just want it all to work, SmartConnect™ will automatically allocate the best possible Wi-Fi band for you, so you don’t have to lift a finger!

But that is not all this shiny red beast has to offer!

The easy to use interface lets you control your DIR-895L, giving you access to parental control, blocking of unwanted or undesirable Internet activity and even creating Guest networks, all quickly and easily without the need for a network PhD!

In short, this is for people that want to take full advantage of their Wi-Fi speeds and have multiple devices connected to it at the same time, so they can sit back, relax and enjoy all their Home Entertainment activities.
