Al­ca­tel par­ent com­pany TCL launched its first BlackBerry-branded phone ear­lier this year, and at IFA it an­nounced the re­lease of a new key­board-less BlackBerry in com­ing months. The de­vice fea­tures a bat­tery life of 26 hours, plus wa­ter and dust pro­tec­tion by in­cor­po­rat­ing IP67 pro­tec­tion.

The brand-new Idol 5S was also un­veiled at IFA. It fea­tures a Me­di­aTek He­lio P20 octa-core pro­ces­sor, and comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS dis­play and 3GB RAM, and is be­ing pow­ered by a 2,850mAh bat­tery.

Both car­ri­ers and re­tail­ers in Aus­tralia are tipped to also range a new Idol A7 and A7 XL.

Also avail­able is the Al­ca­tel A7 which is a slightly big­ger, slightly more pow­er­ful, yet cheaper ver­sion of the Idol 5.

In ad­di­tion to the new smart­phone, Al­ca­tel an­nounced the MOVETIME 3G Fam­ily Watch specif­i­cally de­signed for kids. The de­vice al­lows chil­dren mes­sage or call their par­ents.

An SOS but­ton on the watch can also ini­ti­ate a call for help in the event of an emer­gency, also built in is a lo­ca­tion tracker so that par­ents can track their sib­lings. MOVETIME will be avail­able in Aus­tralia in early 2018.
