Alcatel parent company TCL launched its first BlackBerry-branded phone earlier this year, and at IFA it announced the release of a new keyboard-less BlackBerry in coming months. The device features a battery life of 26 hours, plus water and dust protection by incorporating IP67 protection.
The brand-new Idol 5S was also unveiled at IFA. It features a MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor, and comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display and 3GB RAM, and is being powered by a 2,850mAh battery.
Both carriers and retailers in Australia are tipped to also range a new Idol A7 and A7 XL.
Also available is the Alcatel A7 which is a slightly bigger, slightly more powerful, yet cheaper version of the Idol 5.
In addition to the new smartphone, Alcatel announced the MOVETIME 3G Family Watch specifically designed for kids. The device allows children message or call their parents.
An SOS button on the watch can also initiate a call for help in the event of an emergency, also built in is a location tracker so that parents can track their siblings. MOVETIME will be available in Australia in early 2018.
