Belkin has launched its big­gest Pocket Power pack yet, the new 15,000 mAh (A$79.95), which claims to charge a smart­phone over five times.

De­spite pack­ing the most juice of its pre­de­ces­sors, the 15K is lighter and thin­ner than former packs.

In­cor­po­rat­ing poly­mer bat­tery cell tech­nol­ogy, Belkin af­firms the 15K is de­signed to charge mul­ti­ple de­vices.

Bat­ter­ies in­clude safety mea­sures to pre­vent over­heat­ing or surg­ing – e.g. heat, volt­age and cir­cuitry sen­sors.

As an added safety mea­sure, any de­tec­tion of ex­cess heat, volt­age changes or ab­nor­mal­i­ties trig­ger an over­ride, which au­to­mat­i­cally shuts the bat­tery pack down.

The new Belkin Pocket Pocket 15,000 mAh is now avail­able to pur­chase from sev­eral au­tho­rised re­tail­ers in­clud­ing Har­vey Nor­man, JB Hi-Fi and Myer.
