The people of Kettering
ANNA MACY (ELIZABETH DEBICKI) A successful haematologist living and working in London, Anna is competitive and self-sufficient. She refuses to succumb to vulnerability and be dependent on anyone. People find it hard to get close to Anna, which helps her keep a troubling secret she is anxious to keep hidden. BRIAN DUTCH (MATTHEW LE NEVEZ) Police officer Dutch has just returned from working on the mainland in the drug squad. He can’t let go of a grudge, has loose morals and a weakness for greed. If Dutch thinks his new job in Kettering will be an easy one, he’s got another thing coming. FERGUS MCFADDEN (HENRY NIXON): Fergus has a good heart but is insecure and knows there are people in town who think he isn’t cut out to be in the force. He was taken under the wing of Anna’s father Roy Macy after his own drowned. While Fergus stands up for Anna against the locals, her reappearance has unsettled him and stirred up both good and bad memories. ROY MACY (ANTHONY PHELAN): Anna’s father has been the local senior cop for 35 years. Though a good man he’s made bad decisions. His daughter’s return turns his world upside down as his own secrets threaten to surface. RENAE BAXTER (SUZI DOUGHERTY): Gillian’s mother still holds hope she will see her daughter again. Instead of believing her own secrets may have had an impact on Gillian’s fate, she prefers the alien theory.
