Four new names on Hol­lyoaks…

Hol­lyoaks bosses have an­nounced the cast­ings of four new stars in­clud­ing the re­turns of two long-time faces that haven’t been seen in Ch­ester for years. DAVINIA TAY­LOR, who orig­i­nally joined Hol­lyoaks in 1996 as Cindy’s sis­ter Jude Cun­ning­ham, will be repris­ing the role in the months ahead for a ma­jor new sto­ry­line to screen later this year. Jude was last seen flee­ing the vil­lage af­ter a jew­ellery heist went awry in 1998. Also, ASH­LEY SLANINA

DAVIES is com­ing back to the soap as her fan-favourite char­ac­ter Amy Barnes. This time, how­ever, Amy is re­turn­ing per­ma­nently, un­like in the past when she only made guest ap­pear­ances. SLANINA

DAVIES orig­i­nally played Amy from 2005-2012. Mean­while,

DUN­CAN JAMES, best known as a mem­ber of UK band sen­sa­tion Blue, is join­ing the show as Ryan, “a grounded fam­ily man with prin­ci­ples and in­tegrity” who moves to town with his fam­ily. Fi­nally, the vil­lage’s po­lice force is to wel­come a new mem­ber now that AN­DREW HAYDENSMITH has signed onto the show. He’ll play the “young and ea­ger” DS Arm­strong.
