Sally Spectras and the return!
Following the death of DARLENE CONLEY 10 years ago, fans of The Bold and the Beautiful thought they had seen the last of her character, the wildly popular fashion diva Sally Spectra, and her close family and associates, who also faded away.
However, in a stunning twist, B&B is reviving the Spectra family and its rag-tag business Spectra Fashions with a whole new generation of never-before-seen-or-heard Spectras.
Former Days of Our Lives star PATRIKA DARBO ( Nancy) is heading up the new branch of the clan as Shirley Spectra, Sally’s sister. She’ll be joined by her granddaughter and sister’s namesake, Sally, who’ll be played by COURTNEY HOPE, as well as ALEX WYSE as Saul, the grandson of the original Sally’s close friend and colleague Saul Feinberg, and DANUBE HERMOSILLO, who’ll play Darlita, a character modelled after Sally’s now-deceased secretary Darla. To complete the Spectra line-up, Mick Cain is reprising his role of CJ Garrison, Sally’s son.
Heralding the arrival of the new Spectra family, executive producer BRADLEY BELL says he decided to revive the Spectras because he wanted to “play into our great history” ahead of the soap’s 30th anniversary in March.
He describes the Spectra gang as “tough, determined, and broke” as well as the “wine in a box” compared to the Forresters’ “champagne”. Bell also previews that the Spectras are desperate to revive Spectra Fashions after saving the business’s old headquarters from Bill Spencer’s wrecking ball so Sally can fulfil her dreams of being a designer. The new Spectra family will be seen on Australian screens from April.
