New Wolf Creek series plus more from Stan
After the massive success of the Wolf Creek series, streaming platform Stan has announced there will be a season two. JOHN JARRATT is reprising his iconic role as serial killer Mick Taylor with creator GREG MCLEAN also returning. They will be joined by a new cast and the series will premiere later this year.
“The journey we took in taking Wolf Creek from film into awardwinning drama with season one on Stan opened us up to all the possibilities that world offered,” said McLean. “I couldn’t wait to get back into the epic Australian landscape, and delve deeper into the twisted mind of our iconic and terrifying villain; Mick Taylor. We’ll be pushing the envelope even further to create more thrilling, addictive, must-see drama.”
Season one of the movie-turnedTV series flipped the tables on Mick with the sole survivor of a family massacre taking matters into her own hands and pursuing vengeance. It starred up-and-coming actress LUCY FRY as well as DUSTIN CLARE, DEBORAH MAILMAN, GARY SWEET and MATT LEVETT.
Stan has also announced it is now home to the Cartoon Network in Australia and from March will make downloadable content available for offline viewing. It is shaping up to be a big year for the video-on-demand provider — on top of the previous announcements Stan is also premiering the hotly anticipated new Twin Peaks series in May and the JIM CARREY executive-produced drama I’m Dying Up Here from June.
