SHARON JOHAL

Soap World - - THINGS I LOVE - Neighbours’ Dipi Rebecchi SW

FOOD:

Nachos with guacamole. Chips are my vice!

MOVIE:

The Lord of the Rings, Mulan and The Green Mile (I love Tom Hanks). I’m also a fan of indie films and Marvel films.

TV SHOW:

I just watched Counterplay with J. K. Simmons (he’s a legend), The Handmaid’s Tale 2, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Top of the Lake and Big Little Lies. Also Game of Thrones, Seinfeld and anything by Tina Fey, such as 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and of course Neighbours! We work so fast that we can’t be across everyone’s storylines, so it’s great seeing it all come together on screen.

ACTOR:

Emma Thompson, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hardy and – of course – Tom Hanks.

BOOK:

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I also just read Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty.

SONG:

“This Woman’s Work” by Maxwell and “Latch” by Disclosure featuring Sam Smith (acoustic version).

SINGER/BAND:

Odette, Drake, Flume, Chance the Rapper, Childish Gambino, Rudimental, Hermitude, Matt Corby, Tash Sultana and Ed Sheeran.

FASHION:

I like figure-hugging clothing that celebrates female curves – Australian brands such as Misha Collection, Sass & Bide, Mossman, Manning Cartell and Zimmermann. I also love vintage clothing from local markets.

BEAUTY/HAIR PRODUCT:

SK-II Essence, L’Oréal Revitalift, Inika Organic, Skin Republic and Aesop.

HOLIDAY DESTINATION:

I love Italy’s Amalfi Coast and Cinque Terre. They were my screensavers for years, and when I finally got there, I was blown away by the beauty, food, wine and hospitality of the locals.

WAY TO RELAX:

I love hanging with puppies! I also walk dogs for the elderly and disabled.

EXERCISE:

F45 and Goodlife – it’s all about squats and lunges to get a booty to kill for!

SUPERHERO:

Wonder Woman or Kamala Khan. I love strong, fierce women.

CHILDHOOD MEMORY:

I grew up in an isolated town on the Murray River. My favourite memories are of hanging out with family and friends at the river on 42°C summer days.
