STEALING Emma’s LIMELIGHT AT THE FASHION SHOW, Zoe INGRATIATES HER WAY INTO AN ANGRY Xander’s LIFE WHILE PLOTTING TO ELIMINATE Emma!
British import Zoe Buckingham hasn’t announced her arrival in LA quietly. Obsessed with Xander Avant, very much the object of her affections, Zoe has already mistakenly targeted Hope with vicious online threats – instead of her true prey, Emma, his latest love interest. With each passing day, Zoe’s behaviour has grown darker, leading her to recently take advantage of an inadvertent collision with a model at the Hope for the Future fashion show to enable her to step in and model the showstopper gown! She knew she’d upstage Emma, whose earlier dance routine had won such warm applause from the crowd.
In the fallout from the show, Forrester Creations is agog at the media buzz the mysterious Zoe (Kiara Barnes) has created, with Eric (John McCook) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) being especially pleased with her talented performance. Poor Emma (Nia Sioux) deflates on the sidelines, outraged at Zoe snatching the thunder out from under her on the runway. She moans to Xander (Adain Bradley) that she should be the one accepting plaudits from the media and industry figures, but instead she’s sure Zoe planned the finale’s modelling switch just to hurt and undermine her.
Enraged on Emma’s behalf, Xander vows he won’t stand for Zoe’s troublemaking and bursts into Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) office to plead his girlfriend’s case. Interrupting as Ridge thanks Zoe for saving the show’s most important final moment, Xander tells Ridge that an uninvited Zoe followed him to town from London because she’s in love with him, despite him having no feelings for her. Unfortunately, Xander’s hopes of Ridge banishing Zoe are hampered by her request to speak in her defence to ensure the big guy will employ her!
Appalled at her audacity, Xander orders Ridge not to give her a job after what she’s done to Emma -- but Zoe interjects that she’s over being jealous of his feelings for Emma and vows not to interfere in their relationship if everyone gives her a chance to prove her worth in the industry. After Thorne (Ingo Rademacher) also tells Ridge that Zoe made the online threats against Emma, he agrees with Thorne and Xander’s assertion that it’s best if Zoe returns to the UK and doesn’t let the door hit her on the way out!
Feeling triumphant, Xander and Emma grab a little private time, with him hastily assuring his girlfriend that the history he shared with Emma is just that: in the past. Taking Emma into his arms, Xander promises never to hurt her and they kiss.
Across town, Zoe returns home, completely undeterred by the Forrester hierarchy’s suggestion that she get going. Reliving memories of her runway glory, a defiant Zoe tells her only confidante, Harry the cat, that they aren’t going back home because she and “daddy” are getting back together! She can feel it and the only thing standing in the way is Emma…
Spending several days plotting her next evil trick, Zoe arouses Xander’s suspicions when he doesn’t hear any confirmation from her that she’s left LA. Losing patience, Xander finally appears on her doorstep intent on ensuring she gets on a plane without further delay, knowing that her unwanted presence is playing havoc with Emma’s already fragile emotions. Suddenly, Xander is caught off guard when he finds Zoe lounging in a skimpy bikini. She’s clearly hoping the sight of her near-nude body will be enough for him to succumb to her seduction – and she’s confident that she has him right where she wants him.
After Thorne visits and convinces her to stay in town and take a job modelling for Forrester Creations, Zoe’s excitement is consuming her: she accepts and impulsively rushes into Xander’s arms! From the shadows, Emma watches this intimate display, seething to think that Zoe will do anything to hurt her. With Zoe privately planning to deal with her, Emma has no idea that if she pushes the unstable Englishwoman too far, her very life could be at stake!
